It is clear that the financial systems in the United States are broken.  Sadly, our leaders, Robert Rubin, Phil Gramm, Larry Summers, President Clinton and Alan Greenspan did nothing except make it worse.  Then the meltdown.  It is equally clear that the legal system in the United States is broken.  Similarly, our leaders do nothing even though the dysfunction is obvious.  Take a small, but overwhelming example.

The Innocence Project has exonerated 241 convicted felons through the use of DNA evidence.  What is overwhelming is that 17 of those exonerated were on death row.

Now, close your eyes and picture yourself there in prison with only the thin thread of a few erstwhile lawyers fighting for your life and the full array of government prosecutors and the judiciary against you.  And you are totally innocent.
